The ministry of the church, as defined in the New Testament, was never meant to be a one-man show. Christ designed His church to grow and mature when every member of that body uses their various gifts and talents to contribute to the effective working of the whole organism (Ephesians 4:15-16). He called spiritual shepherds, or pastors and elders, to partner with believers in this development process by teaching and preaching God’s Word, leading and exhorting into maturity, and modeling Spirit-filled obedience (Ephesians 4:12-14).
When every member of the church body is following Christ’s design, the emphasis will center on relationship with Jesus, the individual’s evaluation of their sufficiency will decrease, the Gospel will be central, and the church will grow in unified purpose.
Michael Brockmann – Connections, Discipleship & Service
Michael came to the our gathering in the early spring of 2010. He grew up in Northern Colorado and went to school in Wisconsin. There he met and married Mindy and together they have four kids. Michael’s passion is that a love for God and His glory would grow in every believer, and that each would find freedom to connect with each other for God’s proposes. As unity grows, the reflection of God’s glory becomes more clear, and the world is changed!
Dana Anglund – Worship, Teaching & Prayer
Dana joined our gathering late in 2011. He grew up in the area, but left to pursue medical training on the East Coast. God called him back to the area in 2011, and he began a practice and taught at a medical school nearby. Dana’s design is to teach and equip the believers to know Jesus truly, and to experience the radical transformation that comes from true obedience to the Spirit’s direction.
John Borkert – Administration, Finance & Missions
John began attending High Plains with his family in 2010. He grew up in Denver, and moved to Northern Colorado shortly after completing his medical school training. John is a careful student of the Word, and earnestly desires to help administer the gifts that God has given to the body. He and his family of 5 have a deep love for God, and faith that where God leads, He provides.
Jonathan Wishart – Peace, Youth & Fellowship
Johnathan was born and raised in Northern Colorado. He was trained at a ministry school in Texas, and returned with an earnest desire to better know and serve God wherever He was at work. Jonathan and his wife began attending High Plains in 2011. They now have 2 children, and are excited to use their gifts of teaching and hospitality as they serve the needs of God’s body, both locally and globally.
