History

High Plains Church began meeting in the summer of 2004, and on May 8th, 2005, the church was officially organized with its charter membership.

The church was founded with the belief that God has called together a specific, local group of believers to be partners in:

  • Exhortation to Spirit-filled living by the unapologetic preaching & teaching of the Word of God.
  • Edification of one another in regular, authentic, biblical fellowship and Spirit empowered prayer support.
  • Detailed Bible Studies which allow the Scriptures to speak for themselves without doctrinal bias or presuppositions.
  • Evangelism of the communities of Johnstown, Milliken, Northern Colorado & the world.

People come to partner with High Plains from many different backgrounds and walks of life. For some, this is the first church they have experienced. Others come from churches whose faith and practice is similar to High Plains. Ultimately, our desire is to function in Spirit empowers unity, without assuming it requires uniformity of function. We long to reflect our mission to become God’s body on purpose!

No matter what your background might be, we are thankful God has knit together His church as a body all participating for His glory. We want you to understand our identity and history so you can join our worship whole-heartedly and enjoy our fellowship freely.
